The
2009-2010 school year promises to be full of exciting
adventures for you, your students and the Fort Worth
Museum of Science and History. We will open the
doors of our new 166,000-square-foot facility in late
2009. In the new building you will find Innovation
Studios, the Fort Worth
Children's Museum, Energy Blast, DinoLabs and DinoDig,
Fort Worth History
and the Cattle
Raisers Museum. We will also host special
traveling exhibits and the all-new digital Noble
Planetarium. Until
then, we want you to take advantage of the extraordinary
programs available right now for Fall 2009 from the
Museum of Science and History and the National Cowgirl
Museum and Hall of Fame. The Fall Program
Planner is online. Watch the mail for your copy of
the School Program Planner next week.
Coming
in early December you will receive the Spring 2010
School Program Planner bursting with details about the
future Museum and the many new experiences available for
you and your students.
Field
Trips Omni
Field Trips are available September 8, 2009. You
won't want to miss one of these great films: Bugs! A
Rainforest Adventure, Dolphins,
Grand Canyon
Adventures: River at Risk, and Forces of
Nature are a great compliment to your
curriculum.
Outreach
Opportunities If
you can't come to us then let us come to you with our
engaging outreach programs! Discovery Labs
on Wheels is ready to roll your way. Let our staff
engage your students with one of our interactive
programs: Electrical
Energy: Jolts and Volts, Matter Explorations,
Light and Sight,
and Investigations in
Weathering, Erosion and Deposition. All
programs are correlated to the TEKS and TAKS.
Astronomy on
Wheels will bring the night sky to you. Join
our Museum staff for a tour of the solar system or learn
more about our nearest neighbor, the moon. What
ever you choose, your students will be fascinated with
the Noble Dome.
Distance
Learning is a great way for us to join your
classroom, virtually. If you have distance
learning capabilities you really won't want to miss out
on these great programs.
