Educational Programs Facilitator

Part Time

Job Summary:   
The primary responsibility of the Educational Programs Facilitator is to implement programming at school sites and in the museum.  This person is also responsible for organizing materials and resources associated with the program. This person must have excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, superior communication skills, ability to work well with children and be an effective problem solver.  This person must work well in a team atmosphere.

Basic Functions and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Meet with Director of Professional Development to plan programming

  • Manage and organize materials and resources needed for programming

  • Inventory materials and report replenishment needs

  • Testing of new programming with staffRefinement of museum programming

  • Communication with teachers prior to program

  • Implementation of school programming including:

  1. Loading and unloading of materials at Museum and schools
  2. Transportation to and from school
  3. Check in with school office upon arrival
  4. Set up in classroom or lab
  5. Facilitate student learning during session
  6. Interact with classroom teacher
  7. Communicate educational connections and websites pertinent to program
  8. Communicate museum resources with teachers and administrators
  9. Complete programming reports

 

Qualifications:  

  • Teaching certification preferred

  • Teaching experience preferred

  • Friendly, out-going personality with a high energy level

  • Respect for all children and their learning abilities or differences

  •  Able to work effectively with other teachers and be punctual, reliable and flexible

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to carry up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to multi-task
